: Entresto is known to cause an increase in creatinine and indirectly a decrease in GFR in most patients and aside from acute renal failure in a minority, less than 5%. Monitoring and dose adjustments may be needed with the help of your current prescriber.

last year post-viral myocarditis, ef was 10% been on entresto, metoprolol, spironolactone for year, ef now 45% or higher. dr doesn't want to discuss discontinuing meds, but i'm experiencing weight gain from meds (not fluid) can i get your opinion?

: If the doctor who knows you best is advising against stopping the meds, that is your best bet. You EF going from 10% to 45% is good evidence the medications are working. Perhaps you can see a nutritionist to get on a weight loss regimen that will help you lose the extra pounds you gained from the meds. Good luck to you!

Decreased EF from AF: Entreaties usually increases ejection fraction. In this instance, the most likely cause is the onset of atrial fibrillation causing a rapid and irregular heart rhythm. An additional factor is the loss of effective contraction of the upper chambers(atria) due to atrial fibrillation.

i have just been diagnosed with chf lvef is 45 and mri showed myocarditis and cardiomyopathy. i'm 37yro female. can it get better with the entresto they got me on. also been having night sweats clothes are drenched in the am. could that be a symptom?

: Ask about endocarditis and other things that could be causing fever and CHF. Very rare at your age to have CHF.

i have a very low sex drive. is there any medication that could help? i do have congestive heart failure and an aicd. i take entresto, mag ox, spironlactone, asa, metroprolol?

: There are two medications approved by the FDA for low sex-drive in pre-menopausal women - Flibanserin and Bremelanotide. Heart disease is a relative contraindication for bremelanotide. You may want to discuss this issue with your PCP or gynecologist as there are a number of off-label prescription medications that are frequently used for this issue.

i'm on entresto, metoprolol, an lasix for heart failure, was recently prescribed macrobid for uti and now i have a tooth infection which i have doxycycline for is it ok to take them both together or should i wait the 5 days til macrobid is done?

: You could ask your doctor if the urine culture is sensitive to doxycycline and then switch to doxycycline alone if it is. If you need to take both antibiotics together, watch for diarrhea as this is a potential side effect of taking both antibiotics at the same time. Good luck!

Serta: If you mean sertraline, then it's used for depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, ptds, or eating disorders.

Accepted Answer

Depends: Depends on what type of IBS you have… Constipation type we have a few different medications, for diarrhea type there are fewer options.  Before diagnosing yourself with IBS though, make sure you have colonoscopy and EGD and labs done and an examination as IBS is what we call a diagnosis of exclusion, where we "rule Out" other causes then call it IBS.
