Yes: entamizole has 2 ingredients though, diloxanide and metronidazole, the former works in the intestine, the latter penetrates tissues, to kill protozoa as amoeba, imodium reduces gut motility so helps with cramps and diarrhoea. Why recurring?: Issue might be why you get recurrences. Contaminated well water? Drink from streams when backpacking? Sexual activity (oral/anal)? Are you sure that it is giardiasis causing the problem? Immune disorder (iga deficiency, hiv)? See infectious disease doc if recurring or rx is not effective.

Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of fetal harm, except when the drug was administered intraperitoneally. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Do not take this without a doctors visit and specific diagnosis.
