Very serious: Guess your mom is 60+. Smoking hx and kidney failure with sepsis are considered "multi-system" failure. Not waking up can be low BP with sepsis, uremic poisoning from kidneys, early liver failure etc. If her heart gets too weak with all the toxins, she will face very grave risk ofh minimal survival. Talk with the bedside RN and the primary specialist taking care of her. Get help with your pain too

Liver failure has symptoms of yellowing of your skin and eyeballs, pain in your upper right abdomen, a swollen belly, nausea, vomiting, general sense of feeling unwell, confusion and sleepiness. It is uncertain how long that will take.
