what is the best way to cure bloody noses?

Moisture: Saline rinses help to cleanse but only moisturize for 15-30 minutes.  Sesame or olive oil drops are good moisturizers since nose bleeds usually from dryness.  If Aspirin consider stopping it if ok by md. If this doesn't help see ENT as there may be other causes such as septal perforation, vasculitis, meds, etc.

my friend has lots of bloody noses what could be causing them he has lots of bloody noses and not sure why

Epistaxis : Epistaxis or bloody noses can be caused by a variety of things such as dry air, nose picking, sinusitis, allergies, nasal sprays, etc. And it is worth having it looked into by and ear, nose and throat doctor (otolaryngologist). They can place a scope (small camera) into his nose and see why he is having the nose bleeds. They may even be able to stop them from happening which i'm sure would be a relief to him!

in the meantime, here are a few nose bleed tips. If your friend's nose starts to bleed, pinch the soft part of his nose below the bridge (not the bridge) to stop the bleeding. Now keep pinching for 5 minutes. Set a timer or look at a watch because it will feel like forever. And no peeking! that will stop 95% of all nosebleeds. Good luck!

Keep you nose moist: Most nose bleeds are from the anterior septum (the wall between the 2 sides of the nose).  When this area dries, the blood vessels can become fragile or scabs can form.  Use nasal saline sprays 3-4 times a day and place ointment in the front of the nose 2 times a day.  Remember not to remove any scabs that may form on the septum.

Sinusitis?: Chronic sinus inflammation can cause both a runny nose and nosebleeds.  You should see your doctor about this.

ENT: If your nose bleeds hold your nostrils between fingers for about 10 minutes.  Sit up ; hold your head ; neck forward so the blood doesn’t just flow down your throat. If you are able to – place a moistened cotton ball over the area that is bleeding.  If you can’t control the bleeding after 20 minutes – seek medical assistance. You may need to see an ear/nose/throat specialist if you have chronic &gt;.

Nasal anatomy: Bloody noses are very common especially in people who have septal deviations or enlarged superficial blood vessels in the very front of their noses. It is a simple thing for an ENT doctor to fix. Contact an ENT doctor and they should be able to cauterize it quite easily and solve your problem.

Bloody Nose:: Blood comes from ''plexus" of capillaries at anterior nasal partition where ext. ; int. Carotid capillaries converge. Causes: digital trauma from rubbing, dry cold air, inflammation, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, too much use of nasal steroid, etc. To stop: sit up, lean forward, pinch nose x 9 min, cold compress. He is rubbing right side more causing unilateral bleeding. See ENT if too much.

Not usually: Not exactly sure what you mean by a "big root canal". An infection with internal pressure can certainly cause a headache, but a bloody nose is not usually a complication of the root canal therapy itself. They may or may not be related, so that's why you should be addressing your question to your treating dentist; they know your situation better that anyone over the internet.
