Can't tell: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. An Ob-Gyn doctor can evaluate any persistent or worrisome symptoms.

Yes: Ewcm usually accompanies ovulation, but many women don't notice it at all. Mucus is a very "soft" non-specific way of detecting ovulation. If you have mostly regular periods each month, you are 99% ovulating during those cycles.

Mucous not ovulation: In someone who has classic 28-day cycles, the mucous you describe from the cervix does become more abundant prior to ovulation.  Because sperm can live for 2 - 5 days in the female genital tract, the appearance of the cervical mucous precedes ovulation and points to the "fertile time" during the cycle.  If one is doomed not to ovulate, the appearance of mucous has no meaning.

Can't say when you: ovulated without knowing length of your menstrual cycle. Ovulation takes place 14 days prior to anticipated period. And yes, there can be significant variability of vaginal secretions through out the month. Take care.

Unreliable: Trying to monitor your cervical mucous is very unreliable. Simply buy an ovulation kit at the pharmacy. Much more trustworthy.

i got a egg white cervical mucus at the start of my fertile days and my opk was low. now 4 days later my cervical mucus is sticky and i got a peak opk test. could i have ovulated early with a low opk?

May be: Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
