: Pulmonary edema is a condition caused by excess fluid in the lungs. Your lungs are situated inside your ribcage, whereas your breasts are located outside your ribcage. There is no pulmonary tissue in your breasts.

2-3 months whole body edema, swollen/sore breasts, no period, exhausted, feel heavy, neusea & occasional vomiting, weight gain, depressed. not pregnant, thyroid test normal as was liver & kidney test. keeps getting worse & worse, any ideas?

Whole body edema?: Whole body edema is anasarca.   Goggle and look at pictures to see if you look like that. One issue is almost always eating more salt than you per out.  Get the app Cronometer and see how much sodium you are eating.  How much is too much? When you swell it is too much.  Discuss with your team. Be certain albumin has been tested.

edema in ankles, stomach, breasts, and keep feeling really weak all the time, especially after i wake up from sleep. diet is not helping at all.

Need a full MD exam: You need to have a thorough MD exam to sort out all of these issues. A full history and testing is most helpful in determining your problem(s).

when does the redness and swelling from mastitis go away? i drained a clog yesterday and half of my breast is still pink and has edema.

Need medical care: You did not mention if your are nursing or not. Inflammation of the breast is always a matter of concern. Mild cases can be treated with anti-inflammatory meds and breast compress. In more severe cases an antibiotic may be needed. An abscess can be identified using an ultrasound. On rare occasions a type breast cancer can be associated with inflammation. I suggest medial evaluation.

i have "airpockets" under my skin in random spots, pelvic region, between thumb and pointer and below both breasts i don't think it is edema: ideas?

Need for examination: It not feasible to interpret what you are calling "airpockets" without a physical examination. It is not likely that air is trapped under the skin at multiple sites, or even one site. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation.

what causes chest pain on left side behind breast and going thru to the back. ekg was normal. bad edema  pain worsens whe breathing in?

Pleuritic pain?: It could be part of your left lung that is sticky and rubbing against your chest wall causing pain. Taking nsaids may help reduce the symptoms. However, you always need to rule out cardiac causes! the best option is to have a multifunction cardiography test.   http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/multifunction_cardiogram                      ekg is notoriously inaccurate for women with disease!

had  breast u/s showed multiple fibroadenomas, complex cyst and bilateral axillary lymph nodes enlargement. painful breast+ arm with edema. possibly?

See specialist: You have a "busy" breast and with your young age it is probably dense as well.  I highly recommend you find a breast specialist who can review the films and examine you.  I have several other posts on Fibroadenoma and Cystic changes (Fibrocystic) that you can review.

Yes they can.: Many medications, especially the drugs for bph, can have some affects on the male hormone levels.  Breast tenderness and even some breast growth is not uncommon in men taking drugs for bph, especially the 5-ari medications. While not particularly dangerous, please monitor this closely with your physician.

how much time for incurable breast cancer that has spread to the bones, the spine and lymph nodes which have caused edema in the arm?

Accepted Answer

Possibly long time: One of the sites of metastatic breast cancer that responds to newer chemo drugs is osseous involvement.  All depend of course on hormone status of the tumor and whether it is triple negative or responds to herceptin/taxol. 
I now believe that what is in the nodes such as axilla stay in axilla and if not removed may cause the swelling of the arm. Age here is also a factor.

Please see your GP: My advice is not to ignore such a problem in the breast.
There are quite few causes to think about from simple hormonal problem to infection and even cancer.
So I would like you to see your doctor for further assessment and management as needed.
