Costume jewelry has a high content of nickel in it which is a very common allergen people can become sensitized to. Consider avoiding earings for the next few weeks and apply OTC hydrocortizone cream to area twice a day and see if lesions resolve.

So what is the presc: Well, WHAT is the "prescribed" treatment??????? Best result from a visit to a dermatologist. Avoid any med with neomycin as this often causes allergic reactions.

See below.: Eczema is in the same family of conditions as allergies and asthma. It can't be cured but usually can be controlled. It is best managed by using a sensitive skin cleanser, avoiding bathing in very hot water, and using a sensitive skin lotion at least 3 times daily, even when the rash isn't there. If doing this plus the prescription steroid cream isn't enough, time to see a dermatologist!

Fragrance free: Few tips: 
-Moisturizing cream (fragrance FREE) TWICE a DAY, every day. Always within 3 min after bath.
-Short baths, warm water, not too hot. Fragrance free soap and shampoo.
-100% cotton clothes (in contact with skin)
-Detergent: unscented, dye free , Do NOT use softeners
-Hydrocortisone 1% cream for a few days, limit to 7-10 days per flare.  If not better, see his doctor.
