Why not try a dip stick pregnancy test you can get from a local pharmacy.
You can check with planned parenthood office in your town -if one exists- as a second choice.

Irregular periods: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

: If your cycle is most often regular, you can do the test with the first voiding tomorrow morning. If cycle varies 5 days or less, you can do the test this weekend. You had sex eight days before the expected period or almost a week from time of ovulation so chance of pregnancy is not that high by my prediction.

Your menstrual history can provide information about "pain and bleeding", and if this instance is typical of your normal cycle's symptoms, without a test it is not possible to prove the cause.
