Ear infection: A swimmer's ear will cause sharp ear pain and drainage of fluid. A middle ear infection with a tympanic membrane perforation will also produce that.

See ear specialist: You did not mention how your ear started to hurt. Do you have swimmer's ear, or cold symptoms and ear pain from the inside? Soldering optic is to relieve pain and inflammation by contact. It sounds like it has not been helpful. With swelling behind the ears, and your pain when you open your mouth, the inflammation sounds severe. You need to see your doctor or an Ear. Nose. Throat specialist!

Prob not ear: It is possible your pain may be referred by something else such as your jaw or teeth. If your ear is ok then i would focus on your jaw as a cause. Soft diet, ice, antiinflammatory medications and see your dentist. It is rare for pain caused by the ear to come and go.

Ear blockage: You need to see an ENT doctor for examination and hearing testing. The hearing lost could be from fluid behind your right ear drum hence no discharge.

Serous otitis: Yes, pain can be caused by fluid. It is sometime difficult to get rid of the fluid. You may need antibiotics, antihistamines and possibly steroids. When all else fails you may need to get tubes for your eara. All these procedures should be in consultation with an ENT physician.

Decongestants : Unless you have a reason to avoid them, decongestants are just what the doctor ordered for your symptoms. Phenylpropanolamine can be purchased by itself in brand or generic fashion. Pseudoephedrine must be purchased from behind the counter but can last form12 hrs vs the 4 hr repeat on PE, but it will have more effect on raising blood pressure.

Eustachian tube dyfx: When you are yawning the popping you are having is caused by air rushing into the ear when your eustachian tube is opening.  The eustachian tube is a tube that connects your ear to your throat and  opens naturally when you yawn or swallow.   Try popping your ears by plugging your nose and blowing hard. Your ears should pop open. This is called a valsalva maneuver and is very effective.

Acoustic neuroma?: Could be a benign growth on the nerve to your eardrum from trauma or previous infections.  Best to see an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist.
