Yes: It may depend on the medication you are taking. It would be useful to check with your pharmacist, if the ant-acid may alter the effectiveness of the antibiotic.

Depends : If u are symptom free then 6 days shd be enough esp if it is urinary infection.  Medicine is not harmful  during breast feeding but may cause diarrhea in the baby. Sometimes the infection can recur and ur symptoms will return. If so u shd consult ur doctor again.

Diarrhea, cramps.: Severe, acute hemorrhagic diarrhea and abdominal cramps are the main symptoms. Usually little or no fever is present, and the illness resolves in five to 10 days. It can also be asymptomatic.  Fluid replacement and blood pressure support may be needed to prevent death from dehydration.  Treatment with may cause kidney complications.  Hemolytic-uremic syndrome is a life-threatening condition.

No specialist needed: Your primary care physician should be able to take care of your e. Coli infection and prescribe the appropriate antibiotic once the strain of bacteria is identified.  But if you are very ill, you should seek immediate attention in the emergency room, as fatalities from this type of bacterial infection occasionally occur.

e coli infection in semen is curable. i am taking ciprofloxacin for 20 days is it good.is this risk for hiv. .i finish course of medicine still have?

Do finish course: Please do take all the prescribed medication and see your doctor for follow up visit as advised. E coli infection per se is not a risk for HIV, however, if you have any concern, ask your doctor to test you.

Not likely: E coli is normal flora of the intestine and c diff would produce foul smelling diarrhea. If you have no more than two loose stools a day, it may be your normal. You may try to make some changes to your diet to see if that changes anything. If you have not lost weight, it is probably nothing to worry about.

What type of E coli: E coli is normally present in the intestine and  does not affect bowel movement. Toxic strains of e coli can cause diarrhea that will result in loose stools.

Culture: Urinary infection is perhaps the commonest infection with e coli and it can be diagnosed by culturing urine. Blood or wound infection would require culture of blood and wound discharge. Similarly infection at any other site, would require culture of material from that site.

Inoculation!: The same factors exist.  Autoinoculation, or from sexual partner.  However, smaller void problems, pressure on the bladder, make autocleansing worse.
