had dull pain above belly button back in july. in feb/march had black, sticky, smelly stool. should i still have an endoscopy if i no longer have them?

Abdominal Pain: With the symptoms you describe, the concern will be for a problem in your upper abdomen. Black stools are concerning for blood that is coming from somewhere close to the upper Gastrointestinal tract. The only way to know that for sure, is by getting an endoscopy.

: Appendicitis causes more than dull pain and a person is really sick . Your best bet is to see your doc for exam and treatment and not try to self diagnose with scary things. Good luck

Many possibilities: If one has some uncomfortable tummy pain, and is normally in good health, some possibilities include: gastritis, stomach reflux, gall bladder problem, pancreatitis, appendicitis (usually lower right tummy), constipation, tumors, intestinal infections, kidney problem, etc...  A person with more than brief, mild pain needs a doctor's evaluation to be sure it is not something serious.

See your doc: Sounds like with a small,hernia or possibly scar tissue. A good abdominal exam should reveal,the cause but you many require ultrasound or x Ray as well. Get going.

Depends: On the surface the discomfort could be from an umbilical hernia or from a sore strained muscle. Internally there are too many structures to guess the cause of pains without a much more detailed physical exam & medical history.
