i am experiencing a dull numbness/tingling in my left leg which has moved to my left arm. most noticeable when i lie in bed or sit down. what could this be?

Neurologist: Numbness,tingling in left arm and leg occurring simultaneously may be seen in right carotid artery blockage, right cerebral cortex pathology but may also occur in demyelinating disorder like multiple sclerosis. In ms the symptoms may occur in a scattered pattern,however. A neurologist is best qualified to evaluate and advise you.

Cardiologist?: You want to see your doc and ask if you need to see a cardiologist. Or possibly any other specialists.

Several things: Pain that severe needs to be worked up by your doctor in person.  He/she will listen to you, perform an examination and possibly order some tests to see what's wrong with you.

cleared by cardiologist. throbbing dull pain under left shoulder blade with left arm numbness after eating and workouts. weight lifting or 2 mile run.

Pain: I am glad your pain is not related to your heart. However, you still have a problem Pain that is in shoulder blade area and worsened with activity associated with numbness would make me think thoracic outlet syndrome or some type of neuropathic pain at neck or shoulder.

Worry: "Don't worry" is not a diagnosis.  If PCP can't tell you what's happening, ask for referral.

We can live with: stressors so long that we do not consciously sense them but our body reacts to them.  Please see your doc to rule out medical conditions.  A clinical psychologist can help you identify and manage stress.  Lifestyle issues are important.  How is your diet, exercise level, amount of sleep, etc.  Peace and good health.

This could be an allergic reaction or cellulitis/infection and sometimes a blood clot.

Needs eval: Numbness in you extremity can be caused by some nerve being pinched somewhere from your spine - neck area down to the arm.  Some numbness can also be associated with heart disease and ischemia, or even be symptoms of early stroke/mini-stroke, etc..  Your numbness needs to be evaluated as soon as possible.  Good luck.

Be aware : Of maintaining normal joint movement, good nreathing, and proper ranges of motion.  If that doesn't help, you may want to try a different exercise.
