Hot tea, gargles: This is viral and will take a little while to work itself out. Throat lozenges, salt water gargles and hot tea are the best thing.

See doctor: Could be all viral but if you are having issues with breathing you need to be seen by your doctor.

Many possibilities: Many things could do this: allergic bronchitis; asthma; even reflux problems leading to occult aspiration of stomach acid; sinusitis. Less likely but still to consider would be heart issues such as congestive heart failure. Do you smoke?

Probably  allergies: Above  symptoms  mostly  seen  as  a  result  of  allergies  ,  tobacco  might  be adding  factor   , dangerous.  Go  see  an  allergist,  til  then  take  delsym, (dextromethorphan)  quit  smoking,  steam  inhalationwith  ponaris oil,  ,  oil  OB  oregano  2caps,  twice  a  day,  diffuse,  tee  tree  oil  for  2  hrs  a  day.

Sounds like a cold.: By the description of your symptoms, I would presume that your symptoms would be due to an upper respiratory infection, either viral or bacterial, and would likely have no direct link to the relations you had weeks ago. That being said, if the symptoms have been going on for weeks, then you should see a doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

COVID testing: Have these symptoms developed since you were tested? If yes, would recommend medical assessment for testing.  For new sx's rest, hydration, acetaminophen, decongestant, cough med &amp; nasal saline irrigation may help mild symptoms. Make sure to quarantine.

Try this: If acute, likely due to a virus, Try humidifier by your bed, and change water every day. If no humidifier, try steam shower. Keep head of bed elevated.  Drink plenty of fluids and rest your voice, including whispering.

If cough persists, see your clinician - it can be due to gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), allergies, certain medications, underlying asthma, or a persistent infection
