is it weird that i drink over 100 oz of water a day but my urine is still dark to medium yellow. what could be the problem?

You're dry: You're losing more fluid than you're taking in. Doesn't matter how much you drink. If you sweat or pee more, you'll have dark urine.

i drink about 85-100 oz of water a day plus 32 oz of dr pepper. will this cause electrolyte imbalance?

No: No, it wont. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day with a healthy balanced diet and you are fine.

Depends: In a person with normal kidney function, the exceess/unneccessary/free water is easily excreted.  

In patients with abnormal function (low gfr), patients with dehydration (excess water reabsorption), patients taking certain diuretics, on certain medications or in certain diseases, the absorption of water can be increased inappropriately.

Evaluation: You should see your doctor to be evaluated and have blood test, fasting blood sugar and Hb A1c to R/O diabetes.

Prune juice: Take MIRALAX--twice a day for 1-2 days and stay on once a day until you are regular.eat fiber--oatmeal,fruits,vegies--activia.

: Urine color is also affected by what you eat and other liquids you drink. If worried too much get a Urine test

Urine odor: Urine odor is usually due to something you have had to eat.  For instance many people right after the have asparagus have a strong odor to their urine.

Polydipsia: Please do not ignore this compulsion of drinking although drinking about 60 oz in a day is not too much. But anxiety can worsen this intake and cause electrolyte problems. Your physician can address these issues by getting more information from you. Good luck.

IBS: It is possible you may have IBS from what you said. There are treatment available, consider a Gastroenterology consult

Depends: For maintences half oz per pound is generally recommended.  So a 150 lb person should drink 75 oz.
