Possible: There are bacteria in a dogs mouth that the vagina is not usually exposed to. An infection resulting from that exposure, while maybe not terribly likely, could be quite serious.

Probably not: As you might imagine, there has been no research on this. But it's probably safe from an infection standpoint. Cunnilingus (oral-vaginal contact) among people very rarely transmits STDs, and dogs don't carry STDs. That said, cunnilingus may predispose some women to bacterial vaginosis. I doubt this sort of contact would to that, but nobody knows for sure.

Not recommended: Mucous membranes don't have a protective (tough) layer of skin over them (such as a hand). The genital tract qualifies as a mucous membrane because it's moist.  As such, it's somewhat easier for germs to pass across from the outside world. You don't know what your dog might have licked before it came near you. You did the right thing which is to wash afterwards. Luckily, overall your risks are low

Vaginal discharge: Vaginal discharge's are related to secondary causes such as sexual practices and medical condition such as diabetes . You can try Otc vaginal cry with metranidazole for the vaginosis but if there is still discharge then you need to see a gynologist. You dog was not the cause and please do not douche it may just make it worse.

: It is very unlikely that you or your baby will suffer any harm from this incident. Since you washed the area following act of affection by the dog, it is unlikely that you got any infection.
