Can be: The vaginal milieu in every woman is unique. Often women have a similar description of their discharge that persists for months/years and this is their baseline. Sometimes, they have change in discharge with foul odor, increased secretions with change in color that can be due to an infection from yeast or other microbes. Vaginal odor: Foul smelling discharge needs to be evaluated. The most common cause is a nonsexually transmitted overgrowth of bacteria called bacterial vaginosis. Testing for   sexually transmitted disease may need to be done as well.

That : That is very normal and is usually caused by fluctuation in hormones.  It sounds like you are doing everything just right.  This is a very common occurrence and you don't need to be worried.  Wearing cotton underwear, avoiding hot baths or bubble baths, and the general hygiene you are already doing is exactly what you should be doing.  You would only need to be concerned if you had a marked change in discharge or itching, which could be a yeast infection.

Get examined: You need to have a GYN MD examine the vaginal area and possible discharge to see if here is a bacterial infection ongoing.  First, eliminate any feminine deodorant or douching products. Wash externally only with Dove, Caress or Ivory soap. Take a extra pair of cotton underwear in a zip lock bag in your purse, and change mid day with the used underwear placed in the zip lock bag.
