Spotting: Probably your spottings due to hormonal changes. Your periods needs  to be regulated . Gyn doctors uses different methods to do that.

Mid-cycle spotting: Spotting or bleeding mid-cycle is likely to be around the time of ovulation, when estrogen hormone levels drop. Progesterone hormone 'kicks in' to stop the bleeding. If the spotting continues, or your last period wasn't 'normal', or you get pregnancy symptoms take a pregnancy test to make sure it isn't early pregnancy bleeding. See a fertility specialist (rei) if trying to conceive without success.

Ovulation spotting: At 28, if is sometimes possible for two eggs to ovulate, and the drop in estrogen just before ovulation is enough to cause the lining of the womb to bleed slightly, just as it does when your period occurs, only much lighter.  In your 30's and 40's this may happen more regularly, but it is not harmful, and your fertility options are not compromised.

: This doesn't appear to be a serious issue and may have been caused by a change in your estrogen level in mid cycle. Your gynecologist can advise you best however.

Check cervix: Have your doctor check your cervix. Your cervix may be very delicate due to an infection or an abnormality on it. It seems like that when it is bumped during intercourse, you spot.

Not sure: If you are trying to conceive, and are having spotting leading up to your next period, this might be the earliest sign of implantation bleeding.  Check a pregnancy test two week after you think you ovulated.

No, it: Does not indicate ovulation.  An ovulation predictor kit does, though.  If spotting indicated ovulation, it would be easier to tell people when they are ovulating.  Under status it says "doesn't know" under pregnancy.  You may wanna check a pregnancy test.  Gd luck.
