i am pregnant and havent went to the bathroom in almost 2 weeks, well its barely been enough when i did go next to nothing. i am also on methadone. what can i do to help with my constipation? i am also ten weeks pregnant?

Methadone can cause constipation. 
Taking it during pregnancy can result in physical dependence in the newborn and risk of complications -neonatal abstinence syndrome

i have pain when tightening sphincter, urinating hurts sphincter and urine comes out in spurts, no visible hemorrhoids, on methadone, had constipation?

Methadone would: explain the constipation, but unless you have a funny side effect, urine spurts and sphincter pain should be checked out by an MD.   You are young to suspect prostate problems, but check it out anyway.   Did you do any damage to this area in other ways?

Possibly, but: methadone withdrawal can present in this manner.Call prescribing physician.

See below: Narcan (naloxone) would not work because of its short half life.  Ultra low dose Naltrexone might lower dosage (0.25 mg once or twice daily)  otherwise, you need to detox completely and consider full dose Naltrexone to reduce long term abstinence syndrome.

Yes: Merhadone can cause constipation and fatigue.  If anything it will lower your blood pressure. If you have concerns about this med, talk to your precribing physician.

Accepted Answer

Variable half life: methadone has a variable half life from person to person and in and individual.  A patient may ave different metabolic rates from time to time due to other medications or a nebulous metabolic change.  This can make methadone dangerous as the level may increase with out increasing the dose and possibly be high enough to cause an overdose.

Sleep disturbance: Methadone generally causes one to feel fatigued and tired not aroused and unable to sleep. I believe we need to look to the cause you are taking methadone. I presume for pain and the pain may be the cause for sleep difficulty.

BAD IDEA: The combination may lead to higher than intended Methadone levels which increases the risk of toxicity.  It also may effect your heart rhythm by prolonging the qt interval..

See below: Methadone interferes with hypothalamic and pituitary function which reduces secretion and cycling of fsh and lh hormones.  This can stop periods in females and cause infertility and sexual issues in men.

Diaphoresis: Not necessarily hot flashes, but more like profuse sweating. You may also experience lightheaded/dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, and constipation. If you have any serious side effects, such as trouble breathing or chest pain, contact your doctor and get evaluated right away. Take care.
