No: There are no eeg abnormalities specific for cannabis intoxication.  There are, howrver, other demonstrable abnalites in brain finction that can last more than 24 hrs after last use.

Define accurate: There are some seizure related changes on EEG that are obvious on any study and some that will only appear during a seizure event. Some with a true seizure disorder have a normal EEG and some with an abnormal study never have seizures.If you have a baseline abnormal study, another on MJ might be interesting, but you should work out the specifics of its use or the value of another EEG with your doc

no: If your question is about specific, unequivocal signs of marijuana use, the answer is clearly no. I am pretty sure, however, that during an acute intoxication with marijuana, eeg may likely differ from a person s normal/baseline waves pattern. Stay clean.

It may: Weed affects the brain and not in a good way.
Get off it while you are ahead!
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Cannabis: Daniel Amen, MD does research on the brain and cannabis.  He finds differences in brains of those using cannabis.  Please be sure to tell your doc that you are using this substance because it can impact his/her reading of your results.  Peace and good health.

Getting caught: I don't know if it will make a difference. BUT WHY TAKE THE RISK? - this is a time consuming and costly test.

i am undergoing a 2hr eeg and a 72hr eeg. i am a regular cannabis user. these are my first eegs ever. will they be able to tell if i smoke during it?

No: The EEG will reveal awake and asleep brain waves. If while using cannabis you were very relaxed the EEG may show a pattern of a relaxed brain state. But  the EEG findings are not specific for medication or other substances.

Unlikely: Although certain components of cannabinoids are being evaluated as anti-epileptic agents, it is very unlikely that smoking marijuana regularly will affect the outcome of a 3 day ambulatory EEG, which typically picks up most of seizure activity quite thoroughly.

It depends: It is sometimes helpfull to look at brain acitivy during sleep as well as in the wakefull state. Caffeine might prevent you from falling asleep during the eeg test.

Accepted Answer

Quit now: Your best bet to avoid heartbreak is to stop now and stay off the radar of any child services/legal entanglements. The drug would show on a poop screen, which is what I test but not a urine test if you stop now. In my state they take baby if you are positive on either screen.Stay off and they won't have reason to test.
