If a female feels: Pain, the amount of pain is variable.  Isn't 16 young to give away something as valuable as your virginity?  What i would say to prepare a couple to have sexual intercourse for the 1st time is that they are responsible not to have an undesired pregnancy. They are responsible also to ensure that they don't transmit std's. They are also responsible to educate themselves about sexuality before hand.

Losing Virginity: You very well may still have some hymen tissue that is inflamed or torn.  You may not have had enough foreplay to get your vagina naturally lubricated for penetration.  Sometimes using extra lube...Or spending more time preparing for penetration with foreplay may be all you need.

If a woman has a healthy vulva, vagina, and hymen; if she is very stretchy; if she is happy and relaxed, with lots of natural lubrication; if a guy enters at a good angle, at the right spot; if he moves gently with small motions until all is well-lubricated and stretched out; there may not be tearing or bleeding.
