Sounds fine: One won't know she has oral HPV in the mouth or throat unless there's an abnormal spot or lump. Tiny spots of HPV would not be noticed by the person. Some strains of HPV don't cause big problems. One should get vaccinated against the bad strains of HPV (Gardasil-9 vaccine), to help prevent ano-genital infections. In real life, sharing food or water is fine, but maybe not chewing for somebody else.

Soap/H2O fail w/HPV: Soap and water will not kill hpv.  There are currently surfactants, chemicals and hydrogen peroxide vapor being evaluated to kill the virus on surfaces but currently no topical treatments for  killing the virus are effective.  This virus is associated with cervical cancer and head/neck cancer.  Vaccination of our at risk population is key!

: No, zero risk. You will never get HIV except by sex. However, assuming that at your age you have been sexually active, you can assume you already have been infected. Over 90% of all people acquire HPV (often several times), even if they have had only a few sex partners. If at sexual risk, look into HPV vaccination. Regardless of risk, follow standard Pap smear guidelines. Otherwise no worries.

A single,brief: touch as you describe would be unlikely to transmit any viral infection, but just be vigilant and notify your doctor for the development of any suspicious lesions.

No worries...: All teens and young adults are now vaccinated to prevent worrisome strains of HPV, right? If not vaccinated, today's the day! Unless the clinics are closed for a holiday, or some reason like that. Anyway, water activities in which the water can wash away cells, mucus, secretions, etc., probably make it too hard for HPV to get into another person's surface cells. No worries.

: Whether or not HPV is killed by soap or washing really isn't what matter. The important thing is that HPV is never transmitted by non-sexual touching or by contact with the virus in the environment. Hand washing is inherently, but it makes no difference for HPV prevention. No house mates of people with HPV are infected after years of sharing toilets, kitchens, etc -- unless they are sex partners.

: Acquisition of genital strains of HPV require genital skin to genital skin contact with an infected person. It does not spread like a simple bacteria from casual contact with objects/water.
