Hepatitis : Hepatitis c is not an absolute contraindication to bypass surgery. A lot depends on the current status of your liver function.  Your physician will likely perform liver function tests as part of their evaluation. They may also recommend an ultrasound to evaluate the liver as well as the gallbladder if it is still present. If you have cirrhosis or hepatocellular cancer as a complication of your hepatitis c then you likely have other problems to deal with and bypass surgery is not right for you. If you have normal liver function then there is no absolute contraindication. This is when a conversation with your surgeon is key to understand risks and benefits as they apply to you. Be sure to discuss options in weight loss surgery with your doctor. Lap band and lap bypass are very different surgeries and each has its own risk and benefit.

Bloating can be obst: You have lost a lot of weight and bloating can be a sign of a partial bowel obstruction caused by an INTERNAL HERNIA. Please get a CT scan with contrast to evaluate.

Depend: Depending on which type gastric bypass (sleeve gastrectomy vs roux en y vs gastric banding) also may be you have bad stomach ulcer that prevent you from taking aspirin.  Please call you surgeon/doctor and ask for the explaination on your case.

The : The best thing for you to do in this situation is to ask your doctor that cared for you while you were in the hospital why the second injection was given in the arm. Honestly it will be very difficult for anyone to comment on why the injections were given as they were since we did not order them and were not there. If there is any concern by your doctor, everything should be documented in your chart. For the future if you have any questions or concerns question the nursing staff or doctor right away.

Meds available: As you already know hepatitis-c is a very         serious illness that can lead to cirrhosis, liver failure and even liver cancer. Nause and vomiting are  part of the clinical picture. There are some effective anti-vomiting drugs available that can be safely used  in that condition. Yiu sholuld discuss it with you GI specialist.

Bodily fluids: Hepatitis c is spread through bodily fluids.  So avoiding contact with blood and other bodily fluids is the key.  Also note that hepatitis C is often treatable and once the blood is cleared of virus through treatment, then transmission is unlikely.

Options: Probably theist popular weight loss operation at the moment is a sleeve gastrectomy. Its not really less invasive, but has less potential for long term side effects. There are also some newer endoscopic therapies, but they are not so effective. Ask your doctor if a consultation with a Bariatric surgeon is appropriate. Hope this helps!
