Long D/DX: Bowel obstruction ,Endometriosis, IBS, IBD, Fibromyalgia, Aging  &amp; constipation are some dx, that needs to be considered  with patient w/ low back pain &amp; constipation.
Low impact physical activity, NSAID, high fiber diet with lots of water, Heat or Icepack to the back are some of choices for relief.
If symptoms persist, see a PCP/GI.

Yes: Cruciferous vegetables e.G cauliflower, broccoli etc, as well as beans are a common cause of bloating ; gas. Norovirus usually results in fever, chills, intense nausea ; vomiting with profuse watery diarrhea.

IBS: oral bc cause?: Oral bcp's are just a version of what your body goes through hormonally during a regular (non-pill) cycle.  IBS can be caused by stress of any kind, or by viral/bacterial gastroenteritis.  Bcp's are not involved in causing IBS, but taking them irregularly can activate endometriosis by causing estrogen levels to vary in strength. Implants in the colon are common and can lead to IBS symptoms.

I'm sure you know..: ...that flatulence is normal; many consider it to be a sign of a healthy digestive tract. The usual gases, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and methane aren't too bad, but when sulfates are added, it smells worse. When gas in bowel for extended time, bacteria adds sulfates, as do foods high in sulfur.Avoid veggies from cabbage family (broccoli, cauliflower, etc). eggs, cheese garlic, etc
