The appropriate tests must be done, which include 24-hour urine cortisol, midnight salivary cortisol (several values), maybe a dexamethasone suppression test. If Cushing's, can be pituitary disease, adrenal disease or paraneoplastic (associated with a cancer-rare overall). Get properly evaluated. Good luck!

Depends on dose: The reported half life of IV cortisol is about 1 hr for lower doses, 2 hr for higher doses.  Cortisol given intramuscularly, subcutaneous, or in the spine will have a different half life that depends on how it is absorbed into the blood.
