No Birth Control pil: If you have a clotting blood disorder you should never take any birth control pills.So you have other options
1condom
2iud like copper iuds
3barrier method which includes diaphragm, cervical cap, cevical shield, male condom, female condom and spermicidal foam.As a rule barrier methods are not highly effective
4sterlization includes vasectomy in males and tubal ligation or implants.

Blood clots and BCPs: Abdominal pain, chest pain, headache, blurred vision, and swelling in the thighs or legs may be serious signs. Often in a leg clots may be silent or cause only minimal symptoms.Suspicious symptoms are swelling, warmth, pain or tenderness. The pain may be in the calf or thigh and may be present only when the affected area is touched or when walking. Smokers and high risk patients should avoid them.

See doctor: At age 23, then most common reasons for excess bleeding are 1) endometriosis or adenomyosis; 2) weight issues (thin/heavy); 3) thyroid problems; 4) vonwillebrand syndrome. Rarely a polyp or fibroid could be cause as well, an ultrasound could demonstrate. Regardless recommend seeing a physician as that is way too long to bleed for.

Chances are good: This sort of problem tends to improve with time when you first start the birth control pill.  However, there is no precise timetable to it resolving completely.

If you are saying you only see blood when you wipe and this is during your period then yes, birth control pills and other types of hormone containing birth control can make your bleeding very light. Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding is not uncommon especially with a new pill or a low dose estrogen pill or if pills were missed or if other medications are being taken that can interfere with the contraceptive pill.  Unfortunately the bottom line is that is a bummer but not a medical problem.

See below: Is this your first time on the pill? Some times it takes trying different strengths of the estrogen & Progesterone components to prevent pregnancy & break-through bleeding. Since your spotting is midcycle, that suggests insufficient estrogen in the pill. Discuss with gyn for options.
