No: Hormone deficiencies/imbalances do not play a big role in causing asthma, but they can affect its severity. For instance, asthma in some women can worsen during pregnancy and that could be related to the hormonal changes creating a more pro-inflammatory state, but its not directly linked to its causation in the first place. Because asthma is multifactorial, both genes & environment play a big role.

Humidifiers: Dry air often worsens eczema & asthma. As such, many patients find humidifiers (not de-humidifiers) to be helpful if they live with dry air. That being said, a too moist environment is not good since mold like to grow in overly damp areas. If you use a humidifier, make sure to clean the water reservoir in it regularly to prevent growth of mold in it.

Yes: Although everybody's different, we speak of the prototypic "allergic march" - eczema as a toddler, allergic rhinitis by ages 4-7, and asthma in early adolescence. Many people will skip one or two of these problems, but in general, young children with eczema will go on to develop allergies and asthma if they are not carefully treated for their underlying allergies.

Yes that's correct: atopic march explains natural history of allergy progression in atopic individuals, while dyshidrotic eczema is different usually has no known cause, and treatment is different, but an individual can have the condition and have asthma too as two separate conditions not necessarily linked

There has got to be : You live in san antonio texas, it is difficult to believe that there is no doctor who will see your twoyears old son who has common pediatrics conditions.I will call aroud or go to a clinic affiliated with a teaching hospital, or call your local health department and they can provide the neccessary immunisation.You may b referred to an allergist if his allergies are severe and difficult to manage.
