Small but there: Herpes can be spread by contact, so try to have your husband cover the sore till it heals or not kiss the baby till it heals. If you baby develops any unusual bumps, fever, extreme irritability or extreme sleepiness you need to go to an er or your doctor immediately.

Get evaluated: The origin &amp; proper treatment for such sores is best handled after an office visit to review history &amp; do an exam. The problem could be simple &amp; easily fixed, a significant disease or worse. You can't fix this with simple home remedies.

I suppose,but why: The upper lip frenulum will gradually stretch & fade over time or baby will fall on his face learning to walk & it will fix itself. I haven't seen one that required work in 3 decades, but have watched a few that looked like they might.
