No limit, but: If the treatment is not working,the assumption that you have pin worms may be wrong. Peri-anal itching is common to many food intolerance and other problems. It might be worth a real PW test to see if they are there. Mebendazole is a simple neuro-toxin to the worm and is given for prolonged periods at higher doses to treat other types of infections.

D/W OB: Mebendazole is fda category c.  Although some animal studies showed teratogenicity & fetotoxicity, it has been used in humans w/o problems noted.  Benefits should outweigh risks. D/w your obstetrician.

Very different: Flagyl is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. Commonly used for infections that involve gut bacteria or infections in pelvic region, including some STD's. Vermox in an antihelminthic medication, which means it treats parasites, mainly worms of various types. We don't have lots of worm infestations in the U.S. except for pinworms, but worldwide worm infections are common.

Icky worms...: Give it until day seven, then retreat at day seven if they are still a problem.  Wash hands!  Antihistamines can help for the itchiness! Best of luck!

Confusing post: What does getting a kitten have to do with de-worming yourself ? What if any worms are you trying to remove/avoid ? Humans and kittens do not share any such parasites and vermox dosing &amp; frequency depends on the type of worm involved. You are welcome to start over &amp; clarify your post.

1/2 life 6 hours: The half life is short, 3-6 hrs.  It should be largely cleared 1-2 days.

i first realized i had tapeworm 5 weeks ago. used 2 pills of vermox for 6 days. i realized 2 weeks ago it's still there and used another dose 1 per day for 6 days. today i realized everything isn't gone. what medication can i use or what can i do?

Tapeworm : You made need to take a different medication to eradicate it. For example, there is one called albendazole and a couple of others if they might be available where you are. Also, you can reinfect yourself during treatment from your hands so it’s important to be careful about hygiene and hand washing thoroughly during and after taking the medications.
