It is usually: suggested that diverticulitis best to a diet which contains significant residue . Since stool "softeners"usually contain artificial "bulk" I would think it would be OK. HOWEVER I would suggest you consult with you Treating Health Care Professional before taking ANY medication which might have an effect upon your bowel condition!

: Yes it can . Try exercise, plenty of fluids and the stool softner if you have hard stools or feel constipated. Get your doc to give a diet plan of what you can eat and what o avoid. Good liuck.

Different mechanisms: They have different mechanisms of action. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) is an osmotic laxative (draws water out). Dulcolax is a stimulating laxative and for best effect take tablet with full glass water on empty stomach. Severe ab pain or fever then urgently see a doctor. You may benefit from an online consultation to best determine symptomatic care for constipation and advise next steps.

Yes, but lower dose: Docusate (doss) is safe for children and it has pediatric dosing tables; do not give a child an adult dose. I would check the medication insert or online at doss's site for this to most accurately dose for pediatrics. : No. The things you took don't reach a toxic level when you take them a 2nd time the same day. You can resume your regular pattern and just take this as a learning experience.
