Normal stool grades a 4 on the bss. Doctors also define "diarrhea" by volume &amp; stool frequency (typically more than 4-5 bowel movements/day). Persistent diarrhea warrants evaluation, esp if bleeding, fever, tenderness/pain.

In the meantime avoid roughage,eat soft solid foods, and avoid milk products. Take Imodium according to instructions. Keep good fluid intake including sports drinks and ginger ale.
