i was heating up a frozen baked potato in microwave on a plastic plate . as i was eating it i tasted a strange taste, i thought it was the butter but then i noticed a hole the the plate where the plastic had melted so i must have ate. will i be ok? x?

: A simple exposure via GI tract like this incident is less likely having long term consequence so you should be fine. In the future, you should pay attention to the kitchen utensils because some of them are not microwavable.

baby under 1yr. is honey smoked lunch meat cooked long/hot enough to kill the bacteria in the honey? would heating it for 1 minute in microwave work?

Accepted Answer

Depends: A small amount of food  microwaved for one minute would kill the bacteria. If you can see steam coming out of the food, it should be safe. Make sure to cool the food before feeding it to the baby, The inside of the food may stay hot for longer time.
Get the child vaccinated as recommended by the pediatrician.

6.5wks pregnant. i stand in front of the microwave (its above my stove) when im heating food up. should i be worried about radiation exposure to my baby?

Probably not: There are metal screens on the door to prevent microwaves from escaping. Then again, do you really have to stand there while the food is warming? Press the buttons and walk away until the cycle is completed. No reason to stand there looking at the food warming up.

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex.
