It's all part of the: same nerve root from the buttocks to the ankle as it travels down the leg. It has different names as it gets closer to the knee and ankle/foot area.

i walked a 30km path uphill in a single day. i'm flat footed. after the walk, this bony area on the left side of my right foot began hurting. this was on the 7th of nov. and now, on the 6th of dec, this pain hasn't disappeared yet. should i be worried? th

I would be concerned: it sounds like you are referring to your navicular bone. The posterior tibial tendon has an attachment by this bone. This tendon is the one that is involved in flatfoot deformities. do you wear orthotics? the tendon needs to have strain removed from it. Ice the foot or warm water soaks can help but you need to support the arch and take strain off the tendon.

worried about a new flight path to go over our home 600 feet above our house. will we be exposed to jet fuel that can cause health issues such as cancer? what about noise? is it proven to cause heart issues? we are 4kms from airport. thanking you?

Nerve: There are a lot of nerves in the foot and this isn't much to go on.  How do you know it is a nerve that is irritated ?  The very best thing to do is have it evaluated by your podiatrist who will distinguish this from a tendon or other structure.   Good luck.

Clinical exam: Would enable a foot doc to determine in a few minutes. Neuritis complaints are generally numbness, burning, tingling, shooting. Pressure on known nerve locations elicit pain. Wheras, tendonitis, range of motion or resistance would cause discomfort, or palpating the tendon.

Neuropathy?: Has your partner stopped drinking the alcohol? That is important. Has he been prescribed a medication to help with neurological pain?  Has he considered an option like acupuncture?
