Big guns: Almost all acne is hormonal. The 5-alpha reductase (dihydrotestosterone) inhibitors actually have found some use in managing acne. Your best choice might be topical spironolactone. If your acne has not responded to antibiotics, you're a tough case. If you're offered Isotretinoin instead, consider it. Best wishes.

Combination Tx: Combination therapy with a 5-alpha reductase and an Alpha blocker would be optimal medical therapy BPH provide the prostate gland size is greater than 35g. However, neither of these medication classes are meant to directly aid in storage. Addition of an anticholinergic or a beta 3 agonist could directly improve storage.

No: I have never seen this in the medical literature that an herb will do this. Better to use herbs to add flavor to your food.

No.: Lots of internet nonsense about this. Ketoconazole shampoos kill yeast organisms in the scalp, which reduces seborrhea ("dandruff"), but has no effect on hair growth. There is no credible evidence that topical caffeine will grow your hair. Oral finasteride will decrease DHT (and hair loss), but you'll need a prescription for that, and there are potential side effects that you should know about.

Yes: High Dht (dihydrotestosterone) is associated w/prostate enlargement (and hair loss). Medical solution is 5ari, eg Finasteride (proscar (finasteride) & propecia) or Dutasteride (avodart), which stops conversion of testosterone into dht. But Dht sits on other side of seesaw from e2 (estradiol) so lowering Dht might raise e2, leading to erectile dysfunction + loss of libido. So be very careful!

Increase Estradiol: Testosterone is converted into both Dht (dihydrotestosterone) & e2 (estradiol). Think of these two as balanced on opposite ends of seesaw. If you block/decrease dht, you could potentially increase e2. Too much e2 in men leads to moobs (man boobs), nipple sensitivity, gynecomastia, loss of libido, erectile dysfunction, etc.
