my brother has been having severe headache every time he moves. is this the result of dehydration?

Meningitis: Possibly. In the absence of trauma, I am also worried about meningitis. Please get him to the ER for an evaluation.

hi i have a headache i the front followed with hot and cold chills, it started yesterday morning when i got up (saturday) i don't know if it's dehydration or what. what do u think?

Hydrate.: You could have a viral infection. Please do hydrate well. Monitor for sx's of COVID 19.  Symptoms may include fever, cough, feeling tired, shortness of breath, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, chills, chest pain, nasal congestion, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Get urgent care for difficulty breathing, blue lips, persistent chest pain/ pressure or new onset confusion.

why does dehydration cause (rather painful) headaches?

Head aches: The blood flow that normally is sent to your brain may be decreased as it is also being used to supply the vital organs as you become dehydrated. When the brain does not get it required nutrients through an adequate, well hydrated host, it will suffer and tell you by causing a head ache at times.  Stay well hydrated, eat well, feel well, best wishes.

Other side effects include: dyspepsia, dysmenorrhea, vaginitis, abnormal gait, pain, constipation, pruritus, bronchitis, weakness, and emotional lability.

At 57 there are lots of possible connections between the symptoms you mention. You could be pre menopausal, you might be working and not drinking enough fluids, which can often cause headache, and the night sweating could actually be a more serious sign. I hope you will consult with a practitioner to pursue this. And stay hydrated in the meantime.

Hydration: I am wondering how you became moderately dehydrated.  Maybe that would help explain why your still have headaches and fatigue.  You could have the aftereffects of heat exhaustion.  Communicate with your doctor about what you are experiencing.

Headaches and water: Check your sodium by having a physician order a blood test for it. If you drink a lot of water, and not ingesting a lot of sodium, you may have a low sodium level. Why do you think you are preventing dehydration by drinking large amounts of water? Are you having diarrhea, being exposed to a hot environment or urinating a lot? If not, you probably such drink to thirst.
