Implantation: implantation bleeding is much more common on the internet than in real life. It occurs rarely and exclusively in someone who is pregnant. The only way to know if someone had implantation bleeding or just irregular menstrual bleeding is to wait and see if you are pregnant. If your test is positive then this was implantation bleeding. If it is negative then it is just irregular menstrual bleeding.

Bleeding on Depo: Implantation is actually rare and only occurs when you are pregnant. Since you are on Depoprovera it is much much more likely you are experiencing breakthrough bleeding -- a common and typical side effect. If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available  at any pharmacy.

No: 'implantation bleeding' is subtle and unpredictable, if it can be interpreted at all.  Internet gossip vastly over-emphasizes the idea of 'implantation bleeding.' implantation always happens 6-7 days after fertilization, so that's the only time you could see it.

Bleeding common: Bleeding at any point after ovulation and during the first trimester of pregnancy is very non specific and does not really point to any diagnosis.  Implantation technically occurs 6 days post ovulation.  In our patients, 65% had bleeding early in pregnancy with a low miscarriage rate.  We encourage patients not to worry about these intermittent bleeds.    Good luck.

Ovulation: It's difficult to know unless you know when you might have ovulated.  If you are late for your period, then i would recommend taking a pregnancy test.  Bleeding and spotting can be normal during early pregnancy but can also mean that you need to be evaluated by a gynecologist.

Bleeding: Implantation bleeding is not really as common as the internet would have you believe. When it does happen it's  usually 6-12 days after ovulation.  A pregnancy test 7-10 days after unprotected intercourse  is much more helpful. If you are trying to avoid pregnancy considering your age please see your doctor to discuss birth control options. If you are trying to get pregnant take a prenatal vitamin

Possible: That'scertainly possible, so check a pregnancy test about 2 weeks after this happened.  It could also be breakthrough bleeding which is common in teens.
