If none are found, then one can see a dermatologist, especially one specializing in hair restoration (some treatments: minoxidil, finasteride, hair transplants, ...). Medical causes may include: hormonal problems (low thyroid), seborrhea, alopecia areata, stressful illness. Other causes: genetic male/female pattern baldness, telogen effluvium.

Probably not: unless your hair becomes dirty or you've been perspiring a lot.  Most specialists recommend shampooing hair 2-3 times per week instead of daily if possible if you are losing hair excessively.  Over shampooing can dry the scalp.  Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo has helped some with hair loss also. Biotin supplements too.  If your hair loss is patchy, you should see your Dr to rule out other causes.

Greasy Hair: Greasy hair happens when the sebaceous glands on the scalp become overactive.  This means that the glands produce too much oil. 
In a normal environment, the sebaceous glands are designed to produce and secret sebum, which is an oil based matter, which naturally lubricates the hair and skin.
You should use a detergent shampoo to lesson the oil.
