Depends what : Procedure. Usually, you are given local anesthesia. If in hospital likely you get sedated as well. The procedures on toes are usually under an hour. Stitches and possible fixation. Need more info: This case needs more info as far as what type of surgery was performed. Obviously if you had your toe fused or arthrodesis then you will not able to bend your toe however one week after a toe surgery your toe will be swollen and continue to be swollen for up to six months to a year.
