Co-tango usually: The BUN is usually 10 times the creatinine. When the creatinine goes up, the BUN goes up similarly to roughly keep this proportion, in most kidney disease states.

The notable exception is when the creatinine goes up say by 20% to 1.2, but the BUN goes up *5 to 50.  This strongly suggests a pre-renal state, commonly dehydration. 

Mild elevations of BUN with normal creatinines aren't of concern.

Muscle mass: Serum levels of creatinine depend on renal function, muscle mass and intake of muscles foods. A low creatinine level is of no consequence as long as you are not emaciated. Paralyzed, or have extensive amputations. High ratio just reflects low creatinine.

Drink lots of water: In meantime, stop taking otc pain medications like Ibuprofen & naproxen. Also review your medications w/your doctor & pharmacist looking for kidney irritants. Then go see your doctor again for repeat testing. If creatinine level remains high (chronic kidney disease), it's time for a more thorough investigation including ultrasound of kidneys looking for stones & damage.

I'm NOT sure: what Psoriasis medicine your Doctor is referring to!
I can't think of an anti-psoriasis medication which will do this although Renal function is generally monitored in patients taking biological medications (anti-metabolites) for the disease!

The swelling may be due to this + chronic venous insufficiency, which is more likely--for anatomic reasons--to occur in left leg. An internist specializing in kidney disease (nephrologist) is whose care you should be under.

BUN/GFR 54.7: I would  not worry.  It is a ratio-calculated value . Your BUN is 29 ( normal &lt; 20) but that could be due to  either mild dehydration or high protein in body( unless you are actively bleeding) . Your creatinine is  0.53 which is great.The ratio is BUN/Cr  29/0.53 = 54.7 . Your GFR another number we look seriously at is 128 great, potassium is 4.4 normal . Do not worry it is an artifact of the math
