Neither: It depends on what kind of muscle cramps you are talking about but vinegar or pickels have not been found to help.  If you are on medication that can make you lose potassium, then sometimes eating potassium rich foods can help.  But recently, there is more evidence that magnesium might help mucles cramps.  (talking about the charlie horses that wake you from sleep).

Find symptom's cause: Nausea may be gi-related (food poisoning, peptic disease, gastroparesis, due to biliary &amp; pancreatic disease, gas/bloat syndrome, small bowel problems)., diet indiscretion. Consider "central" causes: motion sickness, vertigo, migraine headache, brain problems (some very serious). Also, rule out infection (?Urinary tract), medication side effects, pregnancy, &amp; even reaction to stress. Need eval?

Pain in stomach in heavy drinkers might improve if you take otc prilosec.

Blood Clot: Blood clots, aka deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can cause a persistent cramp like sensation in calf.   This can be life threatening, and needs professional evaluation immediately.  Over use and strenuous exercises can also cause similar, but these aren't life threatening.  Calf pain of curious reason should be taken seriously and evaluated as soon as possible.

Miralax (polyethylene glycol): Miralax (polyethylene glycol) is a good medication for pregnancy constipation. Increase water and fiber consumption. Orange juice is not a treatment.

Nocturnal leg cramps: I can tell how you can prevent it.
All patients tell me that they get thse leg cramps about 3-6 am when they are in bed streching while awaking.
Ask your friend to stop streching with "toes go south", but strech in "toes go north" position. I promise you you will be able to prevent these painfull condition. 
Do not eat so sugary stuff!

Amenorrhea: It is not uncommon for marathon runners to miss their periods. Normal perios will be restored when you stop your vigorous activity.

i have painful stomach cramps, i feel like i should let something out of my tummy. the pain goes up and down my lower stomach. usually i drink apple juice or milk and the tension of the pain goes down, but eventually come back. please help?
