i have been cracking my back multiple times aa day for many years. it cracks far more than most others that i know. could this be causing symptoms of sciatica to now flair up? skin on leg feels qsensitive to the touch as well and hurts if anything rubs ag

Generally No: Cracking backs has not had any relationship with causing other issues.  There could have been a problem you already had going on regarding the sciatica and has just gotten worse lately.  I would consider further evaluation if things aren't getting better, maybe MRI of spine to see.

what is the cause for thining hair, skin peeling/ cracking with itchness at both lower leg and cold extremities (since child). any solutions?

Depends on cause...: One's primary care doctor can check for medical causes. If none are found, then one can see a dermatologist, especially one specializing in hair restoration (some treatments: minoxidil, etc, ...). Medical causes may include: hormonal problems (low thyroid), seborrhea, alopecia areata, stressful illness. Other causes: genetic male/female pattern baldness, telogen effluvium.

cut on leg, used bandage. red raised area noted, removed bandage. 3 weeks since injury and area of 'cracking' skin surrounding wound. not warm to touch or weepy, just won't heal and getting slowly larger. tried hydrocortisone cream but no improvement?

Need to see it: With any wound on the leg it's important for a doctor to visually see the location and the wound itself for a proper diagnosis and treatment.  There are excellent natural treatments that I recommend to patients for wound care!

my brother is diabetic & has a skin tear on his shin what otc medicine should he use on it?

Flap: If there is a flap of skin remaining let the flap stay and work as a natural bandage. I like to treat these dry. Sprinkle with polysporin (bacitracin and polymyxin) powder (otc) and cover with coarse gauze. Tape only to gauze.  No tape on skin.

Erythema nodosum?: A condition called erythema nodosum typically causes painful bumps over the shins. Usually there would also be redness, but not always. Erythema nodosum often is a sign of other systemic inflammatory diseases. For example, it often shows up in people with inflammatory bowel disease, i.e. Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. See a doctor if the problem continues. Good luck!

on my right shin it is very painful when something rubs against it or  if the skin stretches, there is nothing visible on the skin?

Unusual: Even though the shin has very little padding over it,it is unsual to have tenderness without recent trauma,discoloration or swelling. See your Physician if symptoms persist and appropriate tests such as an x-Ray will be ordered if the physician deems it advisable.

is an indentation and discoloration of skin/flesh on the indentation on my front shin anything to worry about if it has been 10+years since injury? there is no pain, just a dent and discoloration of flesh. i worry the tissue died.

Dead tissue: If the tissue were dead, you would be in pain right now.  An abscess would have formed and the site would be red, inflamed, and very painful.  If you don't have any of these, doubtful of dead tissue.

See a dermatologist: It is difficult to make a proper diagnosis since I am not there to see the condition. I recommend seeing a dermatologist so that they can make a proper diagnosis and give you something to get rid of the condition or relieve symptoms.

Hypothyroid Rash: Pretibial myxoedema affects 5% of patients with grave's disease. It may appear before, during or after the thyrotoxic state and is sometimes associated with an underactive thyroid. Pretibial myxoedema presents with a swollen and lumpy appearance over the shins and sometimes also affects the feet. The skin may be discoloured pink or purple, with prominent hair follicles.

See your doctor: Your doctor could see if it is infectious folliculitis or if you have atopic dermatitis.  Depending on the circumstances of how it got there also affects how to treat it.  It may be from an injury or a razor burn, .
