Depends: It depends on who's doing it and why. If you're doing it as a nervous habit, then it's likely not doing you any good. If it's a do (or even a chiropractor) doing it to treat a specific problem, then it can be a good thing. Think of it like a pill. The right pill for the right thing can be good while the same pill for the wrong thing can be bad.

To my knowledge No -: cause has yet been established for it. It also does not result in any longterm ill effects. However having said that, if someone has it in joint, which has been ijnured in the past then it would be better to have that checked out by your orthopd with an xrays to see if there is a loose body or some other cause for it.

No effect: In fact, a few articles suggest that cracking joints may be beneficial since cracking releases a salt of nitrogen that helps fight inflammation thereby protecting the joint. True or not, I have not found any substantiated report of any damage associated with cracking joints.

Rods: If you have Harrington rods and general you not experienced any clicking or sounds. Now you were noticing this I would see the surgeon to put them in or an orthopedic associate who manages rods

Joint "popping" is: not anything to worry about, except if the popping is of the hip joints. Pediatricians routinely check for congenital hip dysplasia with ;dislocation. Grunting &amp; turning red in the face to expel gas or normal stools is because the smooth muscle of the gut does not yet work in a coordinated manner. Learn the "football hold" or "colic carry" for the next few weeks. This,too, shall pass.

Heat &amp; cannabis: 28 yo female has knuckles that &quot;crack&quot; in cold weather &amp; &quot;hand hurts&quot;. Spontaneous cracking of joints are common in people with Hypermobility Syndrome.  Coldness induces muscle spasm and, as loose joints are increasingly more firmly tethered by taut muscles, crepitations &amp; joint pain escalate.  Heat &amp; cannabis both reverse muscle spasm and effect muscle relaxation.

Pop: Has a physician examined your rib cage and verified that there is a pop and,if so,was it at the junction of the breast bone and a rib?  A ligament with a slight separation of the joint from old injury or prior inflammation may be the cause. There would have been some old discomfort and tenderness at that joint.

Anxiety could: Anxiety causes all sorts of physical symptoms.  Given that you are only 30 years old I doubt it is cardiac in origin   If you were a 50 year old person, my answer would be different .  You should still see a physician as anxiety can be treated as well

Yes: the soft tissues that glide over the implant with movement may make sounds. if there is pain or swelling then evaluation would be reasonable
