Supratherapeutic INR: When you are on coumadin, (warfarin) in general your goal for the inr will be between 2-3. The higher the number the higher your risk for bleeding. Bleeding can occur anywhere in the body- including intraabdominal bleeding, bleed in the brain etc. So, you need to make sure you follow up with your doctor regularly , make sure you be careful with your diet and other medication.

Injury by itself: with all other things being stable, should not affect your INR.  If you change your diet or take new medication to treat eht injury, this might affect the INR&gt;

Could be bleeding...: Coumadin (warfarin) is a powerful blood thinner. If the blood is thin enough, abnormal sites in the upper intestine can bleed and cause black stool or melena. Rapid pulse and dizziness might not occur, and there is seldom any pain. Immediate blood testing and a doctor's examination are essential! You should call your doctor now! Good luck!

Warfarin: Anticoagulants make it much easier to ooze blood than when your blood clots normally. See your dentist to check out whether you have gum disease which is now leaking blood with the anticoagulant in your system.
