Chest pain: I think your main problem is your chest pain. Chest pain can be cause of muscles strain.  One common cause is intercostal muscle strain from cough too much.  Your rib can get suluxed or your chest wall muscles can get strained (seratus muscles).

Chest wall pain: if you do, indeed, have costochondritis, then this could explain your pain. usually this pain is only in the front along your breast bone and edges of ribs. it could also be pleuritis.

My aching Back.: Many people  suffer from the same symptoms after sitting in the same position for prolonged periods of time. Strengthening the core muscles will help along with altering the seat/desk height ratio.

Positional change.: The veins in the neck just as the veins in the rest of the body change in size depending on changes in position as well as changes in levels of hydration and changes in pressure in the chest and abdominal cavity. In the neck, the veins decrease with standing and increase with lying down.  Straining or laughing increase the the pressure in the chest which can increase the size of the facial veins.

Many possibilities: Many times the cause of middle back pain is referred from another body part or organ such as stomach, lung, or kidney. If caused by a back or spine problem, would initially treat with first aid measures such as ice , over-the-counter pain remedies, etc. If symptoms persist or associated with other symptoms, you should  your physician.
