Smell it: When in doubt, just smell the milk. If it has gone bad it will be obvious.  It will smell rancid and taste sour, not sweet. Human milk can be stored at room temperature (66-72°F, 19-22°C) for up to 10 hours and in a refrigerator (32-39°F, 0-4°C) for up to 8 days.

No: Breast milk is very nutritious, and excellent for babies, so will be of no harm to adults (in small amounts). Breast milk is too rich, so will give an adult too much animal fat (yes, we are animals) and many extra calories. Most moms with excess breast milk just freeze it for use later when their babies are weaned off the breast, but surely some frozen milk gets wasted (thrown away).

About age 4 months: Babies can start mixed cereal in small amounts at about age 4 months. Water, fruit juice, breast milk or formula to mix. It should be fed from a bowl with a spoon. Cereal does not belong in a baby bottle. As baby tolerates thin consistency, it can be allowed to be thicker over time.

It's fine: You had a c-section and Percocet is a reasonable thing to take-1-2 pills every 4-6hours. The concern is, if you take it prior to breastfeeding, sometimes the baby can become sleepy and not feed well. If your baby is feeding well, don't concern yourself about it. If you are concerned, try taking the Percocet just after breastfeeding, but no more often than prescribed. Be sure your doc communicates!

i am breastfeeding - does what i eat affect the nutrients the baby gets in breastmilk? for instance, if i eat something less healthy like pizza or a cookie, will the baby get that through breastmilk and be less healthy?

: The breast mechanism sources the nutrients the baby needs from your body, either from the diet you have or by drawing from the rest of your system/bones/etc. A poor diet does not replace the nutrients the breast draws from you. In the end, baby will fare better than you from your dietary choices, but an occasional lapse to enjoy junk food will not hurt it.
