Black stool: Peptobismol,if you took it, can cause black stool. Otherwise bleeding from the upper gi tract(stomach,duodenum) is a cause of black stool. Your physician can quickly test a stool sample obtained from a rectal exam and determine whether the stool contains blood. I wouldn't recommend taking harsh laxatives in any event.

i took a stool softener (max 3 pills/24 hours) and waited 12 hours, can i take a laxative (1-2 pills)? the stool softener didn't relieve constipation.

i think i can only poop now while taking senokot. i usually took it once a month for 1-3 days max when i felt constipated(chronic constipation for years monthly to every other month). does it sound like a reliance now? how do you fix that?

: You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods.

i have been on my period for 7 day now and usually it takes 4 days max, my periods is accompanied with a very painful lower back pain and usually i only have this pain on the first couple of day of my periods.this has also caused constipation.

Multiple issues: 1) Constipation may be poor diet or dehydration.  Dehydration can make it more painful.  Drink more fluids especially when you menstruate. 2)  Lower back pain may be caused by the period but more information is needed. Many options...: A person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are vegetables, water, prune juice, prunes, fiber with water, Miralax (polyethylene glycol) Senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, other laxatives, enema,... Doctor can examine; prescribe medication if needed.

Other possible risks include: increased weight, decreased bone mineral density (BMD) obesity, erosion of tooth enamel, mineral depletion &amp; dehydration. If it contains artificial sweeteners &amp; is used daily, this is linked to a 3 fold ^ in dementia &amp; stroke.

Yes: The caffeine as well as the liquid volume can cause GI upset and diarrhea. It is also bad for several other reasons. Cut back to 1 or two small glasses per day, and drink water the rest of the time. Hope this helps!

Yes it can: Pepsi Max does not contain sugar. Pepsi Zero Sugar (previously known as Diet Pepsi Max &amp; Pepsi Max is sweetened with aspartame.  Diarrhea is a possible side effect of aspartame &amp; Sucralose.
