Yes: Fear of flying can be quite anxiety producing and may cause a gagging sensation. If you fly rarely then a low dose benzo of beta blocker may control your symptom. If you fly often then you should seek psychotherapy for a permanent fix. Short term therapy usually works well.

after i eat and even when i just drink a bit of water, i get what feels like a suppressed hiccup or burp feeling in my throat (ive never been able to burp). i also feel constant lump in throat/gagging feeling often. all this then causes nausea?

: Obviously you need a throat examination but this symptom may be a type of globus which occurs with stress, anxiety,post nasal drip or throat irritation.   Your physician or an ENT specialist can evaluate and advise you.

Reflux (GERD): Hi!
When we are preparing to eat, our stomach getsready to receive food by increasing acid ("enterogastric reflEx").  This may cause some discomfort.  Also, and this part is speculation, this could lead to acid reflUx ("GERD") into the esophagus which is commonly reported as a gagging sensation.  You can try taking over-the-counter antacid; if not helping, discuss further w/ a doctor.

Varied possiblities: First of all you should see your primary care physician to rule out physical illnesses such as a thyroid condition, which could cause these symptoms.  If you are cleared physically, it could be stress, which has an impact on your GI tract and could cause the problems with gagging or swallowing.  Relaxation exercises may be helpful but be certain to rule out physical illness.

What have you tried?: Sometimes, that feeling can be caused by GE reflux, and the usual first step is to try an over the counter H2 blocker like Pepcid or Zantac (ranitidine).  Seeing your doctor ASAP may give you other options if that doesn't help within a day or two.  Good Luck!

If the flushing...: ...Is constant, as you say, you need to see your doctor to make sure you don't have an underlying problem, such as abnormal secretion of one of the hormones that can trigger flushing. If the flushing is episodic, the most common cause is rosacea, which any dermatologist will be able to treat for you.

It's possible: If you are constantly rubbing or manipulating your glands or lymph nodes, you can definitely irritate them. This irritation leads to inflammation, and swelling which will lead to painful glands or nodes. If you notice yourself constantly feeling your neck, try to think of an activity to keep your hands busy, or go for a walk. No need to be concerned. Hang in there!!
