Eval.: A constant state of confusion is not normal. I recommend that you see your physician. He or she can evaluate and determine if neurologic or psychiatric consultatoin  are indicated.

Basic Life Support: EMT-Bs do have some drugs they may administer, usually aspirin, nitroglycerin, albuterol, glucose and oxygen. Some locales add or reduce this depending on #providers / geography / other issues.

Depression / anxiety: The most common reason an otherwise healthy person becomes confused about everything is some mixture of depression and/or anxiety. Of course, getting a physical checkup makes sense. But while you are doing it ask for a referral to a psychiatrist or a good therapist. Try a depression or anxiety quiz on psych central to see if you might have those symptoms.

Not sure: You might see your physician for a checkup, and tell him/her about your problem with forgetting bills.  I don't know whether your issue is a general memory problem that needs medical evaluation & help, or is specific to bill payments only.  If it's the latter, there are certainly ways to keep track of important bills either via online reminders, or tracking systems you create yourself.

others, or...: At the moment of the confusion, decreased awareness usually makes the person unable to recognize it (imagine a person insisting on driving drunk). Usually, retrospectively (like in delirium) the person may realize they acted confused in the past; or (like in cases of dementia) other people detect the confusion and the patient denies it. In short, usually you can not tell the difference.

Complicated subject: The reason tests r ordered r varied. Unfortunately not every test is absolutely needed.Often it's part of an appropriate medical eval. Other times, it's b/c a pt wants it even if the doc doesn't. Other times it's b/c a doc is worried about missing something rare & orders extra tests. These aren't all good reasons, but in our health care system, it's reality. 1 answer: good communication w/ ur doc.

No: It is not normal for a person to be confused and making simple mistakes daily, except for maybe the very young and the very old. A person with such symptoms can see a primary care doctor to find out why. Some reasons are lack of sleep, excess stress, being overworked, depression, anxiety, drug/alcohol effects, medicine effects, toxins, hormonal imbalances, early brain (cognitive) changes, etc...

i'm on oral naltrexdone my bottle says 50mg, is that the same as 0.5 per day 3x (1.5 mg max) per day? i'm confused?
