: For back pain, alternating cold and hot compresses is better overall. the two different therapies act in different ways which both benefit your back. The cold compress alleviates inflammation and swelling. The hot compress relaxes the spasming muscle. Used as an alternating therapy with muscle relaxants and oral antiinflammatories, most back spasms resolve within 2 weeks.

Both: Any swelling in the eyelid caused by trauma or surgical intervention should be treated with cold compresses in the first 24 hour period and then after that with warm compresses.

In person: Would recommend an in person exam as there are criteria for treating tonsillitis. In many cases a swab is needed based on exam and that will expedite treatment. Your doc will be best otherwise any walk in clinic.

Cold feeling: You didn't indicate your son's age, how long he's had this "cold feeling," what triggers it, etc.  Would be wise to have him examined by his Pediatrician or General Physician, Pedodontist or General Dentist, or an ENT.

Swelling: Swelling usually indicates an infection, either from the tooth or the gums.
Warm salt water rinses may help (dissolve one tsp of salt in a small glass of warm water), but is not a solution even if the swelling subsides.
Any swelling needs to be seen by your dentist.

Black eye: It depends on how severe the injury was and whether or not you had underlying fracture.  The more severe the injury the longer it will take to heal.

bee stings: Sounds as if you are doing all the right things.  If you get significantly worse or you have symptoms like shortness of breath  then you should have yor parents take you to the doctor.

Wisdom teeth post op: Initially ice packs. Two bags filled with ice, or ice packs should be applied to the sides of the face. The ice packs should be left on continuously while you are awake. After 24 hours, ice will not help. You may have pain and swelling for a few days. This is a normal reaction to surgery. After 36 hours only moist heat (warm washcloth) is recommended.
