Mole ?: At 21 not likely you have had it for years. Well I guess if it fell off at age 1 that would be 20 years. Let your Dr look at it and feel it and offer an opinion and make recommendations.

Not many dos & donts: I am assuming that she did not black out. Applying an icepack would help reduce swelling if it is done quickly. The bump could be a blood clot that formed with the injury under the skin.If it is a blood clot, it may change the color and look like bruise. Once it forms, the blood clot will remain there for months. If she blacked out even for a short time, i would take her to er.

Depends: It depends how hard they hit their head. Sometimes the bump pops up within a few minutes. Sometimes it gradually comes on over the next few hours. Applying ice and pressure would help prevent the swelling, but most toddlers hate the ice. The bump is caused by blood and fluid building up under the skin. It can last several weeks.

Yes: When something hits a small child on the head or when she falls on her head from a distance of less than 5 feet, cries right away, the chances of any internal brain injury are very very small, as shown by a study at the er of a boston hospital some years ago. So you can be reassured and go on loving her.

Maybe/not: Your description is too vague to speculate a cause. Skin/hair issues usually require a visual exam for proper assessment. If it bothers you have the kid seen. Scalp ringworm requires prescription meds.

For symptoms: Children sustain minor head "bonks" all the time.  A cat scan is only necessary if the child has had prolonged vomiting afterward, exhibits neurological changes (seizure, weakness, persistent loss of consciousness), or if the cause of the trauma was severe (fall from height, high speed injury, etc).  Also if the child has blood behind the eardrum or nasal drainage after the injury.

Rash in kids: Rash with white tense surface could be fluid filled and given the child has a sore on the foot, it would be best to have the child seen by the pediatrician. Did ur child have fever with the rash or before it? Some rash is difficult to diagnose without seeing it. How old is ur child? Did he/she get the chicken pox vaccine? All these are imp. 2 know beefore gviign any answers.

Several cues: The kid with a skull defect you feel needs evaluation. The kid who is not knocked out, disoriented or confused @ the time of the injury is probably fine. Repeated episodes of vomiting in the hours after trauma deserve a look over by the dr.Kids under 8 can be allowed to nap on their regular schedule, with you checking in on occasion.Cold compresses can reduce the swelling, if the kid will let you.
