Modest side effects: Gemcitabine is a well tolerated chemo drug. It can cause some decrease in blood counts, so monitor your CBC periodically(something your oncologist will discuss and do it for you). Oxaliplatin has some additional side Effects like nausea and neuropathy, yet these are manageable by any good oncologist. So I would advice you to proceed with chemo and wait to worry if you have any side effects.

It depends: Mostly it depends on what pathologic type the tumor is and where it started. For several, there are protocols in which a new chemorx is used when the original one fails. See if your friend's oncologist can get her into a research study. I'm glad you are there for her.

Nothing..: ...Indeed nothing cures liver cancer once you have it short of a liver transplant but mainly in case you have a primary liver tumor (hepatocellular carcinoma). If an alcoholic, have hiv, or substance abuser transplant is a contraindication! other treatments, chemo, radiation, partial resection, cryotherapy, heat therapy are basically palliative remedies only.

Probably not: Liver cancer is best treated with surgery, if caught early. Once it is inoperable, the treatments are mostly palliative and rarely curative. Unfortunately no chemotherapy drug has shown activity against Liver Cancer. So we have started exploring targeted therapies which, including Sorafenib, have provided modest degree of benefit and some increase  in overall survival.

my father has an inoperable liver cancer. after 5 months under chemo, he's about to do radioembolisation. in term of survival, does it worth it?

Ask his Oncologist: The choices of treatment for liver cancer are quite limited. So you should utilize any treatment recommendation if it has the potential to help prolong his life. Chemoembolization or Radioembolization is certainly a potentially useful treatment in many such patients.

Healthy Diet: Eat lean proteins, lots of vegetables/fruits, drink water, green tea, coffee
Foods to Avoid:
Fatty foods: These include fried foods, fast food, and takeout from many restaurants. Packaged snacks, chips. 
Starchy foods: These include breads, pasta, and cakes or baked goods.
Sugar: cereals, baked goods, and candies
Salt: avoid canned meats/vegetables, and salted deli meats/bacon
No alcohol

It's : It's really difficult to answer this question without much more detailed information. There are many options for treating liver cancer, including chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery (including liver transplant), but the most appropriate option in your aunt's case depends on a great many variables that are unknown to me.

Systemic chemotherapy is usually of pretty limited value if the cancer in question is hepatocellular carcinoma.  On the other hand, it might be very effective for metastatic disease.

I see that you're in ann arbor, mi. I would suggest that you contact the liver tumor clinic at the university of michigan.  They have a multidisciplinary team that will be able to provide whatever type of treatment is most appropriate.

Many options : Depending if primary or metastatic liver cancer. Assuming primary cancer: 1-partial hepatectomy; 2-liver transplant;3-cryoablation of tumor;4-radiofrequency ablation; 5-alcohol injection into tumor; 6-chemoembolization; 7-radiation therapy. Please discuss options with oncologist.

Maybe: Chemotherapy makes some people live longer or even feel better. But it depends on general state of health, number of prior treatments and type of tumor.
